Due to the national blood tube shortage, all NHS Trusts are requested to continue to reduce testing by 25% until Friday 8 October.
We can confirm that:
- urgent genomic testing can continue using blood tubes
- routine testing should wait until after 8 October
We request that you do not switch to mouth swabs for genomic testing as we do not have capacity for the manual processing of these in a COVID safe way for routine samples.
